Wow! What an experience the M.T.C .was today. Since Andrew is my first missionary I have nothing to compare it to. However it is safe to say that I am not fond of the curbside drop-off. Everybody was extremely nice and helpful.....at the same time it was very impersonal! It was hard to take any pictures while dropping him off due to the fact that there were three missionaries standing there waiting for us to finish saying goodbye. The good news is that he was very anxious to get going. I know that he will make a superb missionary! He is definately a people person and that will work to his advantage. Although it was very hard to say goodbye to him i know that he is doing the right thing and this experience will only enrich his life. I just hope the next TWO Years go by very fast!
It was great that they had missionaries that are currently in the MTC helping with the traffic flow. The first one that helped us just happened to be Sean Bullock & Brother White. Sean is a good friend that Andrew ran Cross Country with and Brother White was his seminary teacher from high school. I believe that seeing these two friends made it easier for Andrew to go. It added a little extra comfort for him. Sean is going to Italy and has been in the MTC for a month. Seeing Sean added reassurance to Andrew that he would be fine in the MTC. I thank Heavenly Father for giving Andrew this opening experience!
